Start with the material category
TimberTech’s sample information distinguishes Advanced PVC from composite decking. That makes the material category an early decision, before choosing a color name. Identify both the category and the specific collection so the product instructions and comparison relate to the board you actually want.
Compare the finish as well as the color
The manufacturer presents Advanced PVC collections such as Vintage, Landmark, and Harvest, alongside composite collections including Legacy and Terrain. It describes different grain and finish treatments across those ranges. View samples together rather than assuming that two similar-looking colors have the same texture or construction.
Check details at the collection level
TimberTech’s current product descriptions show differences in board profiles and capping across composite collections. Read the details for the selected product and discuss how its requirements fit your layout, edges, stairs, and existing construction. A manufacturer-wide claim should not replace the instructions for a particular collection.
Look at samples in your own setting
A color seen on a screen is a starting point, not a final selection. Compare physical samples beside your siding and proposed railings, in the sun and shade where the deck will sit. Think about the look of the whole space, the care you are prepared to do, and the way people will move through it.
Separate research from the construction estimate
Bring the collection, color, and any sample notes to the project conversation. Ask about the supporting structure, fastening and trim details, product availability, removal, and finishing work. Review current care and warranty documents separately from installation terms. The guide is product research and does not represent Skeya as a certified TimberTech installer.
